The University wishes to recruit a Lecturer in Occupational and Environmental Exposure Science to join the Division of Population Health, Health Services Research and Primary Care.

The overall purpose of the job is to ensure the development and delivery of high quality and innovative teaching in Occupational Hygiene and Occupational Medicine MSc courses. The post holder is expected to be the programme director for the Occupational Hygiene course and to work closely with the programme director of the Occupational Medicine course to ensure their effectively delivery. This will involve contributing directly to the teaching as well as managing the contributions made by other staff. In addition, the role would also provide opportunities to teaching in other post-graduate degrees (for example, in the Masters of Public Health) as well as undergraduate courses. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute to research in the area of occupational and environmental health.

Preferred Experience

Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematics, scientific or information technology field of study.

Experience with investigating and mitigating ergonomics risks.

Required Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.

3+ years of experience applying ergonomics principles and best practices to support the development, implementation and maintenance of occupational health and safety programs is required.
