In his new capacity, Dr. Albertani will work to enhance existing links and develop new connections between the AIAA and educational institutions, the aerospace industry, and government authorities at both the State and regional levels.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Last year, Albertani and MIME colleague Dr.\u00a0<strong>Nancy Squires<\/strong>\u00a0supported a group of students in starting an OSU student chapter of AIAA; and they currently serve as the chapter co-advisors. Albertani and Squires also mentored three 2012-13 MIME Capstone Design teams that collaboratively designed and manufactured a radio-controlled airplane to support development of the OSU\u2013AIAA chapter\u2019s entry in the 2013 AIAA Design-Build-Fly competition, happening on April 19\u201321 in Tucson, AZ.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to MIME associate professor\u00a0Roberto Albertani, who has been appointed the State of Oregon representative for the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
