{"id":132,"date":"2018-01-02T08:51:42","date_gmt":"2018-01-02T16:51:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/ediblegardens\/?p=132"},"modified":"2019-03-08T10:58:15","modified_gmt":"2019-03-08T18:58:15","slug":"spring-2018-webinars-master-gardeners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.blogs.oregonstate.edu\/ediblegardens\/2018\/01\/02\/spring-2018-webinars-master-gardeners\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring 2018 Webinars for Master Gardeners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to feedback from Master Gardeners across the state we have a great lineup of webinar topics &amp; speakers for spring 2018. \u00a0Get a jump on your continuing education hours!<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p>An important part of being a Master Gardener is staying current on the latest horticultural science. \u00a0With that in mind, OSU Extension has\u00a0developed a webinar series to supplement other classes you may take this year. \u00a0The webinars will focus on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and each topic is presented by OSU experts. \u00a0Remember, you need at least 10 hours of approved education by October 31 to be recertified. \u00a0Each webinar in this series is approved for 1 hour of continuing education.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is a webinar?<\/strong> \u00a0A webinar is a seminar that is presented over the internet. \u00a0The presenter(s) will show slides and photos while they are speaking on their topic. \u00a0There is a chat box to enter your questions. \u00a0Each webinar will be ~40 minutes long and followed by a moderated Q&amp;A session.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do I participate?<\/strong>\u00a0For more information on each session click the link below.<br \/>\nOnce you&#8217;re there, click on the &#8220;Location&#8221; link to pre-register for the webinar and get emailed reminders. \u00a0There is no cost to participate and the webinars are open to all. \u00a0If you can&#8217;t attend the live webinar, a recording will be available at a later date.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Spring 2018 Advanced Training Webinars for Master Gardeners<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1\/29 at 11 am PST <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.extension.org\/events\/3294\">Frontiers in Slug &amp; Snail Management<\/a><\/strong> presented by Dr. Rory Mc Donnell<\/p>\n<p>2\/12 at 10 am PST\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/learn.extension.org\/events\/3287\"><strong>Hybridization and Tetraploids and Chromosomes, Oh My!
