Kaplan<\/strong>. Kaplan will discuss ethical consumerism, food justice, and the politics of disgust. Dr. Kaplan is Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at the University of North Texas. He is author of &#8220;Food Philosophy&#8221;\u00a0(2019), editor of the &#8220;Encyclopedia of Food&#8221; and &#8220;Agricultural Ethics&#8221;\u00a0(2014), and several articles on fake, processed, artificial, and junk foods. Free and open to the public.\u00a0<strong>Monday, April 8, 6 p.m., Milam Hall, Room 319.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Green Legacy Hiroshima Peace Tree\u00a0\u2014\u00a0<\/strong>Join Corvallis Mayor for Peace <strong>Biff Traber<\/strong> to plant a Green Legacy Hiroshima Peace Tree, grown from a tree that survived the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. The Peace Tree will be dedicated to Oregon Hiroshima survivor Dr. Hideko Tamura Snider. New York and London: Bloomsbury, 2019. pp. 21-36.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Assistant Professor of New Media Communications and Speech Communication\u00a0<b>Joshua Reeves\u00a0<\/b>was invited to give a lecture to the University of Nevada at Las Vegas\u2019s \u201cMediating Pathogens: Ad\/Dressing Civic Wounds\u201d Symposium on March 15.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Nicole von Germeten<\/strong>, director of the School of History, Philosophy, and Religion and professor of history, recorded 25 podcasts this term done by the undergraduate students in HST\/REL 353: Slavery in the Americas. The students also chose the artwork. Erkkila, M.D. Endowment for Health and Human Performance and the Medical Research Foundation of Oregon.
