This talk will touch upon the &#8220;green economy,&#8221; &#8220;sustainable intensification,&#8221; and &#8220;half Earth.&#8221; It will ask, is sustainability really possible? What must we give up? And how do we get there? This series of dialogues weaves in issues of sexuality with familial culture, society, relationships, and the identity of women who are seen through the lens of the label &#8220;intellectual disabilities.&#8221; It&#8217;s not a traditional play or documentary-theater project performed by actors. On May 18, she gave a peer-reviewed presentation \u201cRorty, Science, and Peace Literacy,\u201d at the 8th annual conference at the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black\">Center for Values in Medicine, Science, and Technology<\/span><span style=\"color: black\">, University of Texas at Dallas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Associate Professor of Philosophy <strong>Allen Thompson<\/strong>\u00a0has been invited to\u00a0be give a talk entitled \u201cClimate Justice, the Courts, and Extreme Weather Event Attribution\u201d to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/exmail.oregonstate.edu\/owa\/CLAthisWeek@oregonstate.edu\/redir.aspx?C=BQDx9SAUAU2l_SSvoHSFEa5NPUbix9UIvhqB3url-pGBOL6gCfkcgqqvb4jLo-Z1hddYxzl6tE8.&amp;URL=https%3a%2f%2fwww.iri-thesys.org%2fresearch%2fresearch-groups%2fEmBARK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EmBARK<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 a research group, led by Dr. Carl-Friedich Schleussner, focusing on the temporal evolution of barriers to adaptation and their relevance for climate related loss and damage \u2014\u00a0during a political philosophy research colloquium on June 19th at Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany.<\/p>\n<p>Associate Professor in the School of Psychological Science <strong>David Kerr<\/strong> published the following paper with colleagues <strong>Andrew Koval<\/strong> and Assistant Professor <strong>Harold Bae<\/strong> in OSU CPHHS: &#8220;Oregon recreational marijuana legalization: Changes in undergraduates&#8217; marijuana use rates from 2008-2016.&#8221; It will appear in the journal Psychology of Addictive Behaviors.<\/p>\n<p>There are now 800 final meal plates in <a href=\"http:\/\/greenjulie.com\/last-supper\/\">The Last Supper<\/a> series by Professor of Art <strong>Julie Green<\/strong>. Green&#8217;s second solo exhibition at <a href=\"https:\/\/upforgallery.com\">Upfor<\/a> in Portland will be on view June 7-28. The opening reception is Thursday, June 7 at 6 p.m. An artist conversation with Stephanie Snyder is at 1 p.m. on June 30. &#8220;Picnic Brownies Make Life Easy,&#8221; a 70-page facsimile of Green&#8217;s personal ledger cookbook, is at Upfor on June 30. The Oregon Arts Commission and Ford Family Foundation generously supported the publication. The groundwork has been laid for a new series, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Bi0Eb7PBfUG\/?taken-by=juliegreen_art\">First Meal<\/a>. Law professor Robert Owen connected Green to the Center on Wrongful Convictions at Northwestern University. He teaches Biological Illustration, along with other courses in Systematic Entomology and Computational Methods in Genomic Analysis. Ren\u00e9e Zangara is an artist from Portland, and is an active member of the regional art community.
