The works showcase the integration of the arts and humanities with marine and other forms of environment science, and the potential for art to serve as a medium for community engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration. It will be paired with &#8220;Unsilenced: Art and Sounds of Resistance,&#8221; and art exhibit and listening room. Villavicencio&#8217;s work explores perception in moving images with a focus on the interconnectedness of vision and the body. His pieces have been exhibited in the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the Ars Electronica Festival in Austria, and other international venues. Duncanson\u2019s Literary Paintings,\u201d which appeared in the fall 2017 issue (vol. 31, no. 3).\u00a0The Frost Award recognizes excellent scholarship in the field of American art history by honoring an essay, published the previous year in &#8220;American Art,&#8221; that advances the understanding of the history of the arts in America and demonstrates original research and fresh ideas.<\/p>\n<h2>Current Research, Publications and Creative Activity<span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Nabil Boudraa <\/strong>presented the following:\u00a0&#8220;North African pluralistic Society&#8221;, COCC, Bend, Oregon, May 3-4, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Professor of Art <strong>Julie Green\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0&#8220;Food, Fashion and Capital Punishment,&#8221; her second exhibition at the Upfor Gallery in Portland, Oregon, weaves together several\u00a0creative threads that have figured in the artist\u2019s work for decades. The focal point of the exhibition is a series of\u00a0paintings titled &#8220;Fashion Plate&#8221; that blend \u201chigh\u201d and \u201clow\u201d technique and materials. He teaches Biological Illustration, along with other courses in Systematic Entomology and Computational Methods in Genomic Analysis. Ren\u00e9e Zangara is an artist from Portland, and is an active member of the regional art community.
