All entries submitted during that time will appear in the Jan. 8 issue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>CFP\u2014Center for the Humanities 2018-2019 Fellowships \u2014\u00a0<\/b>The Center for the Humanities is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 Resident Research Fellowship Program. Dr. Inderbitzin was nominated for the award by peers from across the country.<\/p>\n<h2>Current Research, Publications and Creative Activity<\/h2>\n<p>Instructor of Guitar\u00a0<b>Cameron O&#8217;Connor<\/b>\u00a0was <a href=\"https:\/\/exmail.oregonstate.edu\/owa\/CLAthisWeek@oregonstate.edu\/redir.aspx?C=RggrXIFGM1xg2Nex1w2ecMWrN3q-3FRWEcBfE26FVYGdawOV4jjVCA..&amp;URL=https%3a%2f%2fcorvallisreview.blogspot.com%2f2017%2f11%2fguitarist-cameron-oconnor-joins-oregon.html\">profiled<\/a> in OSU&#8217;s student-written media journal, The Corvallis Review.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Sarah Dermody<\/strong> of the School of\u00a0Psychological Science was the lead author a FDA-funded study published in &#8220;Experimental and Clinical Psychopharmacology&#8221;\u00a0with colleagues at Brown, Johns Hopkins, UCSF, University of Minnesota, Duke, and University of Pittsburgh entitled, \u201cEffects of reduced nicotine content cigarettes on individual withdrawal symptoms over time and during abstinence.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Stephanie<\/strong>\u00a0<b>Jenkins<\/b>, Assistant Professor of Philosophy, was featured in an interview with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/exmail.oregonstate.edu\/owa\/CLAthisWeek@oregonstate.edu\/redir.aspx?C=hyKlCkP68Aqv7iVaGeMZJSWDgGJg0EXnF9csAlIXXbK1PG2T6zjVCA..&amp;URL=http%3a%2f%2fwww.engagedphilosophy.com%2f2017%2f11%2f25%2f2031%2f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>Engaged Philosophy<\/i><\/a>\u00a0about her use of interview assignments in philosophy classes and her Ecampus Research Fellowship project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Stacey Smith<\/strong>, Associate Professor of History appeared alongside OSU VP Steve Clark on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/exmail.oregonstate.edu\/owa\/CLAthisWeek@oregonstate.edu\/redir.aspx?C=MXZv2m55JvQuAl9I3ihhjn1PEog4YxLh-ldwe7T8tVe1PG2T6zjVCA..&amp;URL=https%3a%2f%2fwww.opb.org%2fradio%2fprograms%2fthinkoutloud%2fsegment%2fcuba-osu-building-names-dallas-school-lawsuit%2f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oregon Public Broadcasting\u2019s Think Out Loud<\/a>\u00a0program on (11\/29) to discuss the historical research into OSU building names and President Ray\u2019s naming decisions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Rena\u00a0<\/strong><b>Lauer &amp; Dr. Kevin Osterloh<\/b>, both Assistant Professors of History and Religious Studies were feature in an article in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/exmail.oregonstate.edu\/owa\/CLAthisWeek@oregonstate.edu\/redir.aspx?C=sGVZxYL8hSrdCLl6j5DBHJ_xY3hHPikBvKeehppbRDW1PG2T6zjVCA..&amp;URL=http%3a%2f%2forjewishlife.com%2fmarried-scholars-explore-jewish-masculinity-femininity%2f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oregon Jewish Life<\/a>\u00a0magazine about their participation as headliners in the 12th Annual Weekend in Quest coming up March 2-4, 2018, in Astoria, OR.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rorie Solberg<\/strong>, Associate Professor in the School of Public Policy, co-wrote <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/monkey-cage\/wp\/2017\/11\/28\/this-is-how-trump-is-changing-the-federal-courts\/?utm_term=.fbf607ac443f\">an article<\/a> for the Washington Post titled, &#8220;Trump&#8217;s judicial nominations would put a lot of white men on federal courts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Coordinator of contemporary music and research <b>Dana Reason<\/b> premiered three new works for audio and piano on Wednesday, November 29 at the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas: &#8220;200 Rounds,&#8221; &#8220;10 Easy Steps,&#8221; and &#8220;even if one was one.&#8221; Reason also collaborated with Bruce Pennycook, director of the Center for Arts and Entertainment Technologies at the University of Texas \u2013 Austin on a new interactive technology worked called &#8220;Interiorities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<h2>Recurring Events<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Brilliant &amp; Resilient: Celebrating the Power of Disabled Women Activists<\/strong> will be on view in the Little Gallery, 210 Kidder Hall, from <strong>Nov. 12<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>\u2013 Dec. 8.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Hiking the Cascades: Photos from the Pacific Crest Trai<\/b><strong>l<\/strong>, work by Eugene-based photographer Ed Pabor, will be on view in the Center for the Humanities until <strong>Dec. 8<\/strong> (M \u2013 F, 10 \u2013 4).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Events Thursday, Dec. 7 CLA Holiday Party \u2014\u00a0The College of Liberal Arts and Dean Larry Rodgers invite you and your guest to join us as we celebrate the holidays with an evening of music, libations and great bites. 5:30 &#8211; 9 p.m., The Vue\/downtown Corvallis, 517 SW 2nd Street.
