Mills, artistic director of the ensemble, was joined on stage by horn soloist Lydia Van Dreel in Forster&#8217;s French Horn Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major. Other works included Serge Prokofiev&#8217;s &#8220;Lieutenant Kije Suite&#8221; and Ludwig van Beethoven&#8217;s Eighth Symphony in F Major.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Instructor of Voice <b>Amy Hansen<\/b> featured in a November 6th performance at Lincoln Hall in Portland, Oregon on a &#8220;cabaret&#8221; program hosted by David Spear, a artist-in-residence at the Portland State University Hebrew Studies department. Spear is a composer, conductor and pianist know for his orchestrations of many popular cinema scores including &#8220;Airplane,&#8221; &#8220;Animal House,&#8221; &#8220;Heavy Metal&#8221; and &#8220;Ghostbusters.&#8221; He has also composed scores for three academy award-nominated films and the Emmy award winning National Geographic documentary &#8220;Everest.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Evan Baden\u2019s\u00a0<\/b>\u201cThe High School Yearbook Project\u201d opened October 30 at<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lanecc.edu\/newsroom\/n\/nr2178\"> Lane Community College Art Gallery<\/a> in Eugene. There will be an artist\u2019s talk and reception on Wed., Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. in the gallery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Art instructor\u00a0<b>Stephen Hayes<\/b>\u00a0has just received the commission to paint a 90\u201dx 176\u201d canvas for the Pearl Neighborhood Canopy Hotel in Portland. It will be the largest painting to date for the artist and is scheduled to be installed in April 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Art instructor\u00a0<b>Katherine Spinella<\/b>\u00a0is one of 48 emerging and mid-career professional American artists to be awarded Publication Fellowships from Peripheral Vision, in conjunction with their inaugural salon-style exhibition, curated by critic Georgia Erger.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.peripheralvisionarts.org\/journal\/news\/salon-2017-fellows\/\">Salon 2017<\/a>, forthcoming this fall\/winter, will take the form of an introductory essay by the curator containing links to artist project pages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Art instructors\u00a0<b>Michael Boonstra and Andy Myers<\/b>\u00a0are included in \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.highdesertmuseum.org\/land-light-life\/\">Land, Light and Life: Nature through the Eyes of Artists<\/a>,\u201d an exhibition that explores the broad range of strategies to examine the natural world. The exhibition is a collaboration between the\u00a0High Desert Museum and At Liberty, Bend&#8217;s new art space and cultural hub, located in the Liberty Theater in Downtown Bend at 849 Northwest Wall Street.\u00a0\u00a0The exhibition opened Nov. 10 and may be viewed through December 30.
