OSU School of Psychological Science Invites you to attend a presentation by Fayeza Ahmed, Ph.D. titled “Evaluation of Cardiovascular Health: Toward Understanding Factors of Cognitive Decline in Older Adults.” 4 p.m., Reed Lodge Room 111. Dr. Ahmed is a candidate for a position in the School of Psychological Science. She received her Ph.D. from University of Georgia and is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Eastern Illinois University (since August 2014), and serves as both an undergraduate and graduate (Clinical Psychology M.A. program) faculty member. Dr. Ahmed’s area of specialization is in Clinical Neuropsychology.

News

Dr. Sean Paul Mills (School of Arts & Communication: Music) will be conducting performances of Bach’s “Concerto for Two Violins in d minor”, Mozart’s “Sinfonia Concertante for Winds & Orchestra”, and Haydn’s “Symphony No. 104 – London” with the Salem Philharmonia Orchestra on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12. The featured soloists are all members of the Salem Philharmonia and travel from all-over the Willamette Valley to play in the orchestra (Junction City, Eugene, Lincoln City, Beaverton, Portland, Corvallis). Tickets are available at the SPO’s website (www.salemphil.org).

The Center for the Humanities is now accepting applications for the 2016-2017 Resident Research Fellowship Program. The deadline to submit proposals is Thursday January 14th, 2016. Current Research, Publications and Creative Activity

School of Writing, Literature, and Film assistant professor Ehren Helmut Pflugfelder has recently announced that a journal for which he is a managing editor recently published a special issue on “race, rhetoric, and the state.” Present Tense’s “Race, Rhetoric, and the State Special Issue” is co-edited by Alexandra Hidalgo and Donnie Johnson Sackey and features the outstanding and courageous work of many scholars, activists, and rhetoricians, including Ersula Ore.
