Creative writing instructor Jennifer Richter’s new poetry collection, No Acute Distress, has been named the 2014 Crab Orchard Series in Poetry Editor’s Selection. The collection will be published by Southern Illinois University Press in 2016.
Creative writing instructor David Biespiel’s monthly poetry columns from the Oregonian (published now for over a decade) will appear in a new book, A Long High Whistle (Antilever Press) in 2015.

Associate professor of philosophy Joseph Orosco recently published an op-ed in Truthout about the viral photo of a young man hugging a Portland police officer in the wake of the Darrin Wilson decision in Ferguson, Mo.
