{"id":306,"date":"2010-10-28T13:08:49","date_gmt":"2010-10-28T20:08:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oregonstate.edu\/sustainability\/blog\/?p=306"},"modified":"2010-10-28T13:08:49","modified_gmt":"2010-10-28T20:08:49","slug":"how-good-is-a-b","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.blogs.oregonstate.edu\/ecologue\/2010\/10\/28\/how-good-is-a-b\/","title":{"rendered":"How Good is a B+?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, OSU again achieved a B+ grade for sustainability practices from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.endowmentinstitute.org\/index.html\">Sustainable Endowments Institute<\/a>. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-308  alignright\" title=\"endowment\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/ecologue\/files\/2010\/10\/endowment.gif\" alt=\"endowment\" width=\"135\" height=\"167\" style=\"border:none\" \/>While a B+ may not seem outstanding, I&#8217;m quite happy with it for a couple reasons.<\/p>\n<p>First and foremost, between more than 300\u00a0colleges in all 50 U.S. states and\u00a0eight Canadian provinces, SEI only gave out seven A grades this year.\u00a0 Second, although we scored a B+ overall last year as well, our actual &#8220;GPA&#8221; went up, as it has each year since we started being graded in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/media.barometer.orst.edu\/media\/storage\/paper854\/news\/2010\/10\/28\/News\/Osu-Trades.In.Orange.For.Green-3950919.shtml\"><em>Barometer <\/em>has covered it nicely<\/a>, rightly attributing much of our high grade to OSU students.<\/p>\n<p>When I was an undergrad, a B+ was ok.\u00a0 It wasn&#8217;t great, and I always wanted to do better.\u00a0 But in this case, I think everyone involved in sustainability-related work at OSU should pat themselves on the back for a job very well done.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, OSU again achieved a B+ grade for sustainability practices from the Sustainable Endowments Institute.
