Oregon State Campus Recycling has updated their acceptables list so that it corresponds with the requirements of OSU\u2019s local recycling processor. Campus Recycling is gradually replacing outdated signage around campus and replacing it with corrected signage that reflects the new guidelines. Additionally, they are planning a large scale communications campaign for fall in order to educate the campus community about the new guidelines. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What is no longer accepted in campus recycling bins?<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">PAPER ITEMS:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No cartons and aseptic containers (place in trash)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No butcher paper (place in trash)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No shredded paper (this material can now be <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/fa.oregonstate.edu\/recycling\/resources\/osu-recycle-guide\/recycling-around-campus\/special-recyclables\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">collected separately for recycling<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> if desired)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No hardback books (this material can now be <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/fa.oregonstate.edu\/recycling\/resources\/osu-recycle-guide\/recycling-around-campus\/special-recyclables\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">collected separately for recycling<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> if desired)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No egg cartons in &#8220;Paper&#8221; bins (still accepted in &#8220;Commingle&#8221; or &#8220;Mixed Recycling&#8221; bins in residence halls and dining facilities only)*<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No spiral or bound notebooks in &#8220;Commingle&#8221; or &#8220;Mixed Recycling&#8221; bins in residence halls (still accepted in &#8220;Paper&#8221; bins on rest of campus)*<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No packing paper in &#8220;Commingle&#8221; or &#8220;Mixed Recycling&#8221; bins in residence halls (still accepted in &#8220;Paper&#8221; bins on rest of campus)*<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">METAL ITEMS:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No aerosol cans<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No tin containers that are not cans (mints, cookies, tea, etc.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No foil<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No metal jar lids<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Anything that is not a tin\/steel or aluminum can is not accepted.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">PLASTIC ITEMS:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No plastic tubs (yogurt, margarine, salsa, etc.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No plastic jars (nut butters, etc.)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Anything that is not a bottle or jug is not accepted.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What is still accepted?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">See the full updated OSU online recycle guide <a href=\"http:\/\/fa.oregonstate.edu\/recycling\/resources\/osu-recycle-guide\">here.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">New Guidelines for Corvallis Curbside Recycling<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Note that the aforementioned changes in acceptable recyclables only apply to OSU Campus Recycling.
