ATTENTION ALL OSU EMPLOYEES:
The OSU Sustainability Office is hosting a FREE workshop offering hands-on help to employees who want to start their Certification survey. Join us at noon on September 5th, lunch provided! There is no better time or place to get started! Multiple staff will be available for one-on-one assistance, so completing the survey via this workshop will be much faster compared to doing it independently. We’ll also discuss our Sustainability Advocates program. WE ONLY HAVE A FEW SPOTS REMAINING; PLEASE REGISTER BY SEP. 4 TO RECEIVE TIMING AND LOCATION DETAILS.
WHAT IS GOC?
The Green Office Certification is a simple yet effective way for OSU faculty and staff to further their sustainability efforts and get recognition for their work. It is also intended to provide new ideas for easy steps your office can take to reduce your environmental footprint and carbon emissions. CERTIFYING YOUR OFFICE IS ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE STEPS YOU CAN TAKE TOWARDS GREENING OSU AS A WHOLE!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Certification utilizes an online Qualtrics survey to assess existing office practices in areas like energy, water, waste management, purchasing, transportation and outreach. Once data entry and analysis are complete, we will send your score and certification level, as well as recommendations for possible improvement.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
For this program, “office” is user-defined with a flexible definition that may be synonymous with department. An office may be a small group or a larger organizational unit. Any employee (including students) from a particular office may fill out the survey.
