Bring those broken or damaged items to the February Repair Fair, Wednesday from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. The event will be held at the OSU Recycling Warehouse, a.k.a. the OSUsed Store (644 SW 13th Street). The event is free and open to all.
Volunteers will teach you how to fix your broken items; attend demos to learn more skills about stress management, fixing iPhones and maintaining musical instruments! See the list below for this month’s skills and demonstrations.

- Clothing
- Computer diagnostics
- Electronics (small items only, please)
- Housewares (furniture, ceramics, lamps, etc.)
- Musical instruments (string, woodwind and trumpets only)

Demonstrations:
- 5:45-6:15 pm: De-Stress: Managing Your Stress – Ever feel like you need to be repaired? Attend this workshop to learn stress management techniques and breathing skills to invoke the relaxation response while getting real-time feedback. It is recommended you attend the full 30 minutes of this workshop. (Leader: Emelyne Woessner, Psychologist for CAPS)
- 6:15-6:45 pm: Screen Time: Replacing iPhone Screens – Broken screen doesn’t equal broken phone. Why shell out money for another phone? Come to this presentation to learn how to replace iPhone screens, where to get the right parts, and the low cost of repair versus replacing phones. It is recommended you attend the full 30 minutes of this presentation. (Leader: Jamie Altman, Mr. Fixit)
- 6:45-7:15 pm: Keep in Tune: Basic Instrument Maintenance – Learn basic instrument maintenance tips and techniques at this demo! Bring in your own instrument to learn how to: Remove a stuck mouthpiece from a slider, make an electronic string winder, replace strings, repair cracks on string instruments, perform quick fixes on pads, and more! Feel free to drop-in anytime 6:45-7:15 pm. (Leader: Callie Limbaugh, volunteer of the Waste Watchers)

Note: We don’t have spare parts, but will do our best to repair what we can and/or refer you to where you could find the parts you need. If you have parts already, we may be able to help you install them.
