Question of the Week

There are two options available for departments on campus who wish to compost organic waste. List the two options for department composting, and include a one sentence description of each.

Answer

Departments may compost their organic waste by signing up for either the collection route or a worm bin.

With the collection route, departments receive both an indoor and outdoor bin to dump their food waste, fiber-items, and compostable servingware into.

Departments who receive a worm bin use red wrigglers to break down their organic waste.

Visit our website for more information on the department composting program.

And congratulations to Iza Petek, this week’s winner of the Question of the Week.
