Are you interested in a career in sustainability? Do you love cities? Are you looking for an education that will train you to lead cities into a greener future?
If your answer is “YES!!” then you should check out the Oregon Leadership in Sustainability (OLIS) Graduate Certificate Program. The OLIS program is an rigorous immersion that gets students ready to lead the imperative to create a more sustainable future. This year-long program equips you to play a key role in addressing the key sustainability issues of climate change, green economy, ecosystem services, green infrastructure and social justice. We are looking for students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds with varied skill sets.
Our students take an interdisciplinary set of core classes that are anchored by practical applied projects. For 2011-2012 our students are working on the redevelopment plans for a brownfield site and a greenhouse gas emissions inventory, both for the city of Springfield, OR. Next year’s class will team up on a set of equally challenging and relevant projects.
We are currently accepting applications for the 2012-13 academic year from students who will have completed a bachelor’s degree by summer 2012.
The priority application deadline is February 1st.
