Yesterday, OSU again achieved a B+ grade for sustainability practices from the Sustainable Endowments Institute. While a B+ may not seem outstanding, I’m quite happy with it for a couple reasons.
First and foremost, between more than 300 colleges in all 50 U.S. states and eight Canadian provinces, SEI only gave out seven A grades this year. Second, although we scored a B+ overall last year as well, our actual “GPA” went up, as it has each year since we started being graded in 2007.
The Barometer has covered it nicely, rightly attributing much of our high grade to OSU students.
When I was an undergrad, a B+ was ok. It wasn’t great, and I always wanted to do better. But in this case, I think everyone involved in sustainability-related work at OSU should pat themselves on the back for a job very well done.
