After several months of careful consideration (ok, really delays because of other projects), the OSU Sustainability Office, with much-appreciated help from Web Communications, has launched Ecologue, a place for conversation about sustainability at Oregon State University.
Coupled with the OSU sustainability web site’s recent growth, it seemed like a good time to take the plunge and do some less technical writing. Although I was initially skeptical about how much time it would take to maintain a blog, David Baker and the WebComm team made a compelling argument, and I am now very excited about having a place for casual discussion, creative outlet, multiple contributors, and constructive (or even semi-constructive) criticism.
The list of contributors will start as a small group of usual suspects, knowledgeable about sustainability in and around the university. If you would like to contribute, please post comments or replies to posts. If you would like to be a regular contributor and create your own discussions through original posts, call me and we’ll discuss. (my contact info is on the sustainability site’s About page)
Thanks for spreading the word about this blog, reading and contributing online, but mostly, thanks for caring about sustainability at OSU!
