JCEP: It’s a Wrap!

Joint Council of Extension Professionals (JCEP) Conference

JCEP is an amazing professional development and networking opportunity! I am always amazed by the high caliber of keynote speakers and this year was not a disappointment. Jones Loflin, a 4-H dad from North Carolina, delivered an engaging and timely presentation titled, “Leadership across Generations.” The presentation was enlightening, educational and humorous. This conference attracts professionals from all program areas, yet small scale (around 240 attendees) makes this conference a premier opportunity for networking.

In 2017, JCEP will be held in Orlando, Florida – February 8th & 9th.

Western Region NAE4-HA Breakout Meeting
I truly enjoyed the opportunity to meet as a region and share about our state successes, challenges and network. This year we had 20 participants representing 12 of the 13 states in the Western Region. My goal is to continue our conversations that started at JCEP to the blog to stimulate additional discussions, resource sharing and celebrating.

Personal Conference Highlights

  • Rad workshop titled, “Social Media Thought Leadership & Working Out Loud” developed by Paul Hill (Utah State University) delivered by Danae Wolfe (Ohio State University). This presentation solidified the concept of this blog. Thanks Paul and Danae!
  • Tim Tanner (Ohio State University) delivered an amazing presentation to provide realistic strategies on how to find a way off the “spinning hamster wheel.” Check out Tim’s resources online.
  • Lena Mallory, NAE4-HA President, provided a comprehensive NAE4-HA 2016 JCEP Update to association members. Check it out!
