In January, more than 150 alpacas were legally transfered to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office from a farm near Fall Creek. There were as many as 200 being kept on 3 acres with little or no food. The animals were in terrible condition, many already dead. Dr. Chris Cebra and CVM Farm Manager Lionel Snyder spent last Thursday fighting snowy conditions to move the sick animals to OSU where they can be treated.
Roads End Llamas recently posted this big Thank You on their Facebook page: “A HUGE shout out of thanks to Dr. Chris Cebra and the entire staff and students at OSU VTH for all the support you are providing for Cross Creek Alpaca Rescue as they work with officials in Polk County to help over 176 alpacas get back on their feet for adoption(s). You guys have always been our rock when we have had trouble, and now ya’ll just ROCK!”
