After a week of One Health One World (OHOW) events for the Afghanistan Veterinary Association and Mercy Corps, the results are finally in! This year, OHOW brought in $638.14 from the Penny War and $225 from sales at Woodstock’s Pizza for a total of $863.14! Leslie Dunham, class of 2013, said, “Thanks to all who participated in the events throughout the week.” In addition, the International Veterinary Student Association (IVSA) wanted to give a special thanks to Shelter Medicine Club, Christian Veterinary Fellowship, Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association (SCAVMA), and the Ag Animal Club for donating their time and providing the lunches/treats during OHOW week.
The winner of the 2011 OHOW Penny Wars is the CLASS OF 2012. Congratulations go to the third-year students. They will be contacted soon to set up a date for an ice cream sundae party.
In addition, IVSA decided to give special recognition to the Class of 2014 for their valiant efforts in the Penny War by scrounging up over 6,000 pennies. There will be a special prize for them as well. Results were obtained by treating pennies as positive and other coins and cash as negative as each class’s jar was counted.
