{"id":544,"date":"2014-07-03T11:39:09","date_gmt":"2014-07-03T18:39:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/collegeofeducation\/?p=544"},"modified":"2014-07-03T11:40:19","modified_gmt":"2014-07-03T18:40:19","slug":"qtl-summer-institute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.blogs.oregonstate.edu\/collegeofeducation\/qtl-summer-institute\/","title":{"rendered":"First QTL Summer Institute has a successful debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It might be summer but last week Furman Hall was buzzing with teachers and over 30 middle school students from Lane County who participated in the first <a href=\"http:\/\/qtlsummerinstitute.weebly.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Quality Teaching and Learning Institute<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The five-day QTL Summer Institute, supported by the OEIB and hosted by OSU, focused on the development of pedagogical skills that will prepare a new generation of teachers to work with students meeting the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/collegeofeducation\/files\/2014\/07\/QTLCollage.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-546\" alt=\"QTLCollage\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/collegeofeducation\/files\/2014\/07\/QTLCollage-1024x1024.jpg\" width=\"425\" height=\"425\" srcset=\"https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/1615\/files\/2014\/07\/QTLCollage-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/1615\/files\/2014\/07\/QTLCollage-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/1615\/files\/2014\/07\/QTLCollage-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/1615\/files\/2014\/07\/QTLCollage.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 425px) 100vw, 425px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The institute engaged teams in rethinking educator preparation pedagogy approaches to better support models of teacher preparation.
