The 2CW group is currently collaborating with leaders from the TRACES initiative here in Central Oregon to develop a toolkit of measures focused on resilience-promoting factors.  TRACES (which stands for Trauma, Resiliency and Adverse Childhood Experiences) is a collective impact initiative here in Central Oregon focused on building community resilience.  They “envision a region where every individual has the ability to weather the adversity in their life. A region where leaders, organizations, and communities actively build systems that help build resiliency. A region where strength is built and results in high levels of health and well-being and low levels of chronic health conditions; where all children achieve their highest level of education and success and graduate on time; and where all adults are financially stable and contributing participants in the community.” Their community success metrics include Increased well-being, Increased Educational Attainment, and Increased employment.

The 2CW group is collating and organizing existing measures of established resilience-promoting (aka protective factors), so that they may be useful to community partners here in Central Oregon from different service sectors.  Protective factors are commonly organized into three categories: individual level (e.g., self-efficacy or self-regulation), relationship-level (e.g., positive peers), and community-level (e.g., positive school environment).
