{"id":479,"date":"2009-08-05T10:41:55","date_gmt":"2009-08-05T17:41:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/breakingwaves\/?p=479"},"modified":"2009-08-05T10:41:55","modified_gmt":"2009-08-05T17:41:55","slug":"sea-grant-noaa-offer-teacher-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.blogs.oregonstate.edu\/breakingwaves\/2009\/08\/05\/sea-grant-noaa-offer-teacher-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"Sea Grant, NOAA offer teacher workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/oceanexplorer.noaa.\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-481\" style=\"margin: 5px\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/breakingwaves\/files\/2009\/08\/NOAA-OE.jpg\" alt=\"NOAA-OE\" width=\"209\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a>Science teachers in grades 6-12 are invited to take part in the first of a two-part professional development workshop series based on NOAA&#8217;s &#8220;Learning Ocean Science through Ocean Exploration&#8221; curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop, presented by NOAA and Oregon Sea Grant, will run from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at OSU&#8217;s Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport.<\/p>\n<p>This workshop prepares teachers to bring the excitement of current ocean science discoveries to students using the Learning Ocean Science through Ocean Exploration curriculum, CD, and the <a title=\"Ocean Explorer\" href=\"http:\/\/oceanexplorer.noaa.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ocean Explorer Web site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The second workshop will be held in spring 2010. Educators who attend both full-day workshops will receive a $100 stipend. Advance registration is required and space is limited.
