New Perspectives on HIV/AIDS
Presented by Dr. Marie Dorsey (’07) and Bob Skinner

In collaboration with the International Pharmaceutical Student’s Federation (IPSF) and the Pharm.D. Enrichment and Professionalism Program (PEPP), the OSU/OHSU College of Pharmacy invited Dr. Marie Dorsey (’07) Pharm.D. and Bob Skinner to present a deeper perspective of HIV/AIDS to a group of first year and second year pharmacy students on Wednesday, January 9th, 2019. Dr. Dorsey, a clinical pharmacist who previously worked for the HIV Alliance, provided an in depth look into the role of a pharmacist in serving HIV/AIDS patients. Speaking from the lens of an HIV patient, Bob Skinner, the president and CEO of Valley AIDS information network, spoke intimately about his experience living with AIDS and HIV. Skinner, also spoke to the importance of the relationship he maintains with his pharmacist and how crucial the pharmacist/patient relationship can be in a patients successful adherence to treatment.
