Joseph Schnabel (’84) Appointed as Executive Director of the Oregon Board of Pharmacy
Announcement from the Oregon Board of Pharmacy – 12/19/18
The Oregon Board of Pharmacy is pleased to announce the agency’s new Executive Director, Joseph Schnabel, Pharm.D., R.Ph., BCPS. Schnabel comes to the agency after serving for over thirty years at Salem Hospital. Since 2011 he has served as Salem Hospital’s Director of Pharmacy. Schnabel’s strong leadership is founded on a career of serving Oregonians. Schnabel has previously served as a member of the board. Schnabel brings experience that translates well to the Board of Pharmacy’s mission to promote, preserve and protect the public health, safety and welfare by ensuring high standards in the practice of pharmacy and by regulating the quality, manufacture, sale and distribution of drugs. Schnabel will start his new role with the agency beginning Monday, February 4, 2019. The Board, agency staff, partners and stakeholders welcome Mr. Schnabel to the helm, at the same time, thanking interim director Brad Avy for leading the agency during the director search.
