College of Pharmacy 2015 Fellow, Penny Reher (’82) and husband Ron Reher
Every year during Homecoming, the OSU Alumni Association honors several prominent Oregon State University alumni. Established in 1988, the Alumni Fellows Award recognizes eminent alumni. Honorees have distinguished themselves in their profession, community, and in service to the University. The College of Pharmacy is pleased to congratulate pharmacy alumna, Penny Reher, ’82, who has been recognized as a 2015 Oregon State University Alumni Fellow.
Penny is the Chief Pharmacy Officer at Samaritan Health Services in Corvallis, OR. Her OSU roots run deep. She was raised in a Beaver family and spent many hours working in her father’s pharmacy. She played a key role in the conception and development of the Samaritan Health System, and is serving her second term on the Oregon Board of Pharmacy where she was President from 2013-2014.

Additionally, Penny regularly returns to the College as a guest lecturer and to support student and professional events. She is well known for her support of students, their education, and their professional development. She mentors, engages in leadership with them, and advises the College in many capacities. Her loyalty to the College and to OSU runs deep—4 feet deep; you can find a tile mosaic of Benny the Beaver on the bottom of her swimming pool! In Penny’s words, “I came to Corvallis and OSU, fell in love with everything about it, and never left.”
Congratulations, Penny!
