The weekend of October 23-24 marked Homecoming 2015 at OSU. Pictured below, the Class of ’65 came to the Alumni Center for their 50-year reunion dinner on Friday night. These graduates gathered together to catch up on the last 50 years with old friends. From going to law school and working as a judge, to spending 15+ years in Brazil, to opening and owning their own pharmacies—the Class of ’65 has done amazing things that make us all proud to be Beavers.
Pharmacy Class of 1965 at their 50 year class reunion
On Saturday, the Classes of ’75, ’85, ’95, and ’05 had a reunion lunch social in the new Horizon Room of the Memorial Union. These alumni enjoyed lunch, mingled with faculty and administration, and enjoyed perusing their class pictures while reminiscing amongst classmates. A special aspect of the social included having current P1 and P2 student hosts present (P2 Courtney Holmes, P1 Katherine Jenssen, P2 Katie La Rue, P1 Shannon O’Leary, P1 Emma Redwine-Hixon, and P1 Kate Rowland) who enjoyed comparing stories of past and present pharmacy school experiences with alumni.
After the social, reunion attendees and many other alumni, students, and faculty met at the Pharmacy Building for the annual Dean’s Coffee. Here, alumni were welcomed back to the building by current students who volunteered to greet these special guests as they returned to the building where they spent so much of their time during pharmacy school. Many alumni took the opportunity to have pictures taken while sitting in the same seat they occupied in Room 305.

Attendees were treated to a personal introduction of two-time Superbowl Champion, Kendall Simmons. Alum, Cory Huot (’97), introduced Kendall to guests at the Dean’s Coffee. Kendall then attended the 2015 Beaver Diabetes Awareness Day where he talked about being diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes during his second year in the NFL, and how he learned to manage the disease.
Before the game, our newest alumni from the Classes of 2010-2015, attended the College of Pharmacy Young Alumni Tailgater where they greeted friends, enjoyed great food, and enjoyed time back in Corvallis.
Next year will be the reunions of the ‘6s! If you are in the class of 1956, 1966, 1976, 1986, 1996, or 2006, look for emails and postcards with reunion details for your class. If you are willing to serve as a reunion chair, please contact Paige Clark, (’85) Director of Alumni Relations.
