OHSU Research Week Award Winners

Several College of Pharmacy graduate and professional students brought home top awards for their presentations at the recently concluded OHSU Research Week. The Research Week format is new at OHSU this year and integrates the annual OHSU Student Research Forum with annual OCTRI events and awards, and celebrates the OHSU research mission and provides avenues for new opportunities for collaboration across the university.

Three students from the Corvallis campus were recognized for Outstanding Podium Presentations:

Kateryna Kyrylkova (Leid lab)

Integration of BCL11B into the FGF Signaling Network in the Mouse Incisor

Stephen  Hyter (Indra lab)

Keratinocytic ET-1 is a transcriptional target of p53 and regulates UV-induced melanocyte homeostasis in vivo

Dan  Coleman (Indra lab)

Nuclear receptor RXRa/b in melanocytes controls UVR induced melanocyte survival and tissue homeostasis

From the Portland campus, Outstanding Poster Awards went to:

Pamela Levine (P4, working with Jessina McGregor)

Validation of electronic medical record date for the retrospective identification of skin and soft tissue infections in primary care settings.

Miriam Elman (Research Assistant with Jessina McGregor and an MPH student at OHSU)

Application of a novel method for age-period-cohort analysis to Oregon viral hepatitis mortality, 1995-2010.
