ASHP Pharmacy Forecast Workshop PEPP

ASHP workshop facilitators answering questions
and leading group discussions
On Tuesday, March 7th, 2017, the Pharm.D. Enrichment and Professionalism Program (PEPP) presented Pharmacy Forecast Student Workshop, hosted by American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).

Students working together to answer questions
presented in the workshop case study.
This interactive session exposed students to emerging healthcare trends and enhanced their understanding of the opportunities within pharmacy practice. Six speakers from OHSU and Kaiser Permanente spoke to each of the eight main topics of the Pharmacy Forecast 2016-2020; ranging from Healthcare Delivery and Financing to Drug Development and Therapeutics, and from Ethics to Patient Empowerment.

P1 and P2 students in Corvallis participated in the workshop via video conference
After the main presentation, students engaged in a group case study workshop to focus on 3 of the main topics: Population Health Management, Data and Technology, and Pharmacy Workforce. Together, they reviewed and discussed the emerging healthcare trends.
