PhD Student Competes in 3MT Competition

Graduate Student, Daniel Coleman, recently secured a second place out of 40 OSU PhD Student competitors at the second annual Scholars’ Insights competition held May 7. The event is based on the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) research competition developed by the University of Queensland. The competition is designed to challenge graduate students to advance a compelling presentation on their thesis or project topic and its significance in just three minutes.

Daniel received $500 for winning second place with his presentation “Sunlight as a Conversation Starter between Our Skin’s Cells.” He was invited to compete in the 3MT State Championships held at Portland State University on May 17 where he competed against graduate students from OSU, PSU, UO, and OHSU. His presentation has been widely acclaimed and discussed heavily among attendees at both events. Congratulations, Daniel!
