Nebraska Medical Center Pharmacy Residency Programs

The Nebraska Medical Center has much to offer PGY1 and PGY2 residents and our ASHP-Accredited PGY1 residency program has been in existence since 1973. We have ASHP-Accredited PGY2 residencies in Critical Care and Oncology. Our 635 bed hospital specializes in transplantation (stem cell, liver, pancreas, heart, kidney and small bowel). We are a Level 1 Trauma center with 24/7 pharmacy coverage in the Emergency Department. We are a certified Stroke and Heart Failure Center and we are one of the founding members of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). We have over 50 adult ICU beds, 33 NICU beds, 20 PICU beds. The majority of our 70 pharmacists are residency trained and a third of our staff is board certified (BCPS, BCOP).

Our program is designed with you in mind. We desire to assist you in achieving your personal and professional goals and we place high importance on preparing you for any job, residency or fellowship that lies ahead for a rewarding career.

I have included our brochure and quick facts sheet for your review.

Candidates are required to complete and submit an on-line electronic application through PhORCAS. Required application materials include the following:

*       letter of intent (addressing program specific questions)

*       curriculum vitae

*       pharmacy school transcripts

*       three narrative letters of recommendation in addition to PhORCAS standardized reference forms

Our application deadline is January 3, 2013.

Although we do not pre-screen PGY1 candidates at PPS, I encourage you to please refer to our website at http://www.nebraskamed.com/pharmacy/residency and visit our showcase booth.

We will be at the Monday afternoon showcase (booth # 4243) at Midyear in Las Vegas and would look forward to meeting with you to discuss how our program can assist you in achieving your career goals.

As a program director, I will help you reach your highest potential. I look forward to meeting you soon and speaking to you about opportunities at The Nebraska Medical Center.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions in the meantime.

Kind Regards,
