Quick Conversations Recap

Submitted by Ryan Petersen (P2)

On April 16, the College of Pharmacy welcomed 20 pharmacists, many of them alumni, to come and share their professional wisdom about their practices with more than 60 PharmD students.

The evening consisted of nine scheduled rotations spanning six minutes apiece.  Students rotated from pharmacist to pharmacist learning about a variety of different practices.  Students then had 20 minutes to roam the building to talk with any pharmacist they wanted.  The group ranged from retired pharmacists with a wealth of knowledge to multiple residents able to give advice about career beginnings.  Long term care, pain management, emergency room, and compounding practices were just a handful of the topics that students had the opportunity to learn about.

Following the event, John Brunscheon (Class of 1975), a retired long term care pharmacist emailed to say “ I am consistently impressed with the quality of the OSU students I have had a pleasure to meet and work with and hope you will continue these ‘conversations’ in the future.”  We look forward to inviting pharmacy professionals back for future “Quick Conversations” events!
