Students Awarded at OHSU Research Forum

The Student Research Forum (SRF) is a celebration of student research in all OHSU schools and disciplines. This year’s forum hosted a keynote speaker, student research oral presentations, and a large cross-disciplinary poster reception. The event was also a teaching and an outreach opportunity, as high school students and undergraduates from across the Portland area attended.

All research presentations and the keynote address took place in the OHSU Old Library, and the closing awards gala
was held for all participants and their mentors on the evening of May 13th at the Vey Conference Center, located in Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

Ben Kong, Drew Dunatchik, Tammy Chan, and Yennie Quach represented OSU/OHSU College of Pharmacy by presentation their research posters. Faculty members Drs.   • Drew Dunatchik was awarded 1st place for the Qualitative Poster Presentation
  • Yennie Quach was awarded 1st place for the Quantitative Poster Presentation
Graduate Student Takes Top Prize
Kate Kyrylkova, a graduate student in the pharmacology program, won the top prize for her podium presentation at the 28th annual OHSU Student Research Forum, which was held on May 12-13 on the OHSU campus.

The title of Kate’s talk was “Role of the Transcription Factor Ctip2 in Incisor Development” and she presented it in the Epithelial Biology section.

There were 47 oral presentations and 45 posters for a total of 92 participants at this forum, of which four were Beavers and the remaining 88 participants were OHSU graduate students. Kate’s recognition was accompanied by a $300 award.
