Kyle Cole Program Supervisor
Kyle received his Ph.D. from Yale University and his Bachelor’s degree in biology from UC Santa Cruz. He has worked in youth outreach for five years and previously taught courses in organic chemistry, evolutionary biology, the origin of life and nanotechnology at Stanford University and Santa Clara University. Kyle now serves as the director of Precollege Programs at Oregon State University. He focuses on creating equitable higher education opportunities for Oregon’s underserved youth, and oversees a wide variety of youth college-access programs that serve hundreds of rural and minority students.
Jean Garcia-Chitwood Precollege Programs Coordinator
Jean has a wealth of experience working with diverse students in secondary and post-secondary education. She has served as the Director of an Upward Bound program, and has managed a K-12 STEM after school program while at Centro Cultural. In addition, she has experience creating summer bridge programs, such as Puentes while working at Portland Community College. Most recently she has led efforts with the Lincoln County School District to re-initiate a Dual Credit Program and in the creation of a new Early College program for high school Juniors and Seniors. Jean holds an MS in Post-Secondary Adult & Continuing Education from PSU and a PhD in Community College Leadership from OSU. She comes from a first generation, Latino migrant family.
