Staci Simonich is jointly appointed to the Chemistry Department and the Environmental and Molecular Toxicology Departments. The application of analytical chemistry into the field of environmental studies increases our knowledge of what compounds are present in our environment, what reactions they are undergoing in the environment, and what their presence means for organisms in that environment. Under Dr. Simonich’s guidance, her students analyze complex environmental systems for known pollutants, and explore ways to determine their behavior.
