The Better Seafood Processing School (BSPS) is organized in collaboration with the Oregon State University Seafood Research and Education Center and Seafood Products Association (SPA). The first BSPS workshop was hosted May 9-10, 2018 in Astoria, OR. Nearly 40 participants from industry, academia, and government attended. In 2019, the numbers exceeded 60. We appreciate the opportunity to work with our various partners and serve the training needs of the seafood industry.
Moving forward to 2020, Dr. Jae W. Park (aka the Surimiman) will resume the Surimi Industry Forum and OSU Surimi School May 5-8 that will be hosted in Astoria, OR. This program will be offered alternatively to the Better Seafood Processing School. The next BSPS will be offered in 2021, and 2022; followed by the Surimi Forum and School in 2023.
